Wynford Green

Wynford Green Condos is a new condominium development by Context, Diamondcorp & Lifetime Developments currently in pre-construction located at 844 Don Mills Rd, Toronto in the Don Mills neighbourhood with a 45/100 walk score and a 78/100 transit score.

This master-planned community follows a plan both vibrant and clever, capitalizing on the area’s proposed crosstown LRT. An ambitious project that will eventually include residential and commercial space, as well as extensive parkland, pedestrian walkways and a recreation centre.

In total, the development will add 3,389 residential units, comprising a mix of high-rise condominiums and urban townhomes. An additional 56-million square feet of office space and 120,000-square feet of retail space will be added. The community’s proposal also calls for a state-of-the-art recreation centre, which will be located across from a 2-acre public park and house a hockey arena, indoor basketball courts and an indoor swimming pool. Designed with pedestrians in mind, a walkable main street will run through the community, featuring a central plaza, outdoor patio seating and a selection of boutique shops.
Wynford Green is slated to include 71 new buildings across its site, including partial retention of an existing heritage building. The majority of these will be low and mid-rise townhomes, with a cluster of 9 condominium towers situated around the LRT station. These towers will range from 15 to 44 storeys. In its entirety, the community will include 2,2293 one-bedroom suites, 921 one-bedroom suites and 673 that include three or more bedrooms, with dimensions ranging from 530 square feet to just over 1,000.

Additionally, three office buildings, standing 8 and 9 storeys, will be worked into the plan, completing a community where urban life and work are redefined. TACT Architecture and Giannone Petracone Associates Inc have been tasked with designing the buildings, so we can expect a contemporary and cohesive look with all the features one associates with modern condominium living.

Along with the addition of over 4,000 underground parking spots and bicycle storage, the community will have an underground connection to the proposed Science Centre station on the LRT, a great perk for this transit-friendly neighbourhood.

Wynford Green involves the close collaboration of Lifetime Developments and Diamondcorp. Over the next decade, 60-acres of land at the north-west corner of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue – the current home of Celestica – will be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use neighbourhood that will redefine urban living and working in Toronto. Wynford Green will feature employment use, retail, residential mid-rise buildings, town homes, new roads, parks, municipal infrastructure, community centre and arena, and access to the new Eglinton LRT. Besides the proposed LRT, it’s a great area for commuters, thanks to easy access to the Don Valley Parkway.

Minutes from the Aga Khan Museum, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre and the Ontario Science Centre, it’s a culturally rich neighbourhood surrounded by enviable park access.
